Jim Chapman Lake and the Cooper Dam sit in Delta and Hopkins Counties two miles south of Cooper, Texas, eight miles east of Commerce, Texas, in northeast Texas. Jim Chapman Lake is 12 miles north of Sulphur Springs, Texas. It was formerly named and is also known as Cooper Lake. Dallas is 67 miles southwest. Tira Boat Ramp is located near the east side of the dam. It has a two-lane concrete ramp, a parking space for 90 vehicles, a courtesy dock, and a restroom. This is open all year round, and with a parking fee.
Oak Grove Campground has 15 sites, and eight people are allowed per site. There is a picnic table, restroom, fire ring, water nearby, and a lantern post. This is a beautiful campsite.
